Bach Flower Remedies

Linda Taylor - Bach Flower Remedies

Bach Flower Remedies is a complete system of 38 remedies, each prepared
from non-poisonous wild flowers, trees and shrubs. They are safe and helpful
for everyone, children, adults, even animals and plants.

They were discovered by Dr.Edward Bach in the 1930's. Dr. Bach was a Harley
street physician, qualified in public health and a bacteriologist. He worked
for some time at the Royal London Homeopathic hospital.
He gave up his career to prove that our emotional outlook could be
ultimately responsible for our overall physical and mental well being.
Dr Bach moved to the countryside to find, or was led to find, the flower
or plant which would restore serenity and piece of mind leading to the
healing of physical complaints.

Dr. Bach placed the 38 remedies into seven groups.

for fear (Rock Rose,Mimulus,Cherry Plum, Aspen, Red Chestnut)

for uncertainty (Cerato, Scleranthus,Gentian,Gorse,Hornbeam,Wild Oat)

for insufficient interest in present circumstances (Clematis,
Honeysuckle,Wild Rose, Olive,White Chestnut,Mustard,Chestnut Bud)

for loneliness (Water Violet,Impatiens,Heather)

for those over-sensitive to influence and ideas (Agrimony, Centaury,
Walnut,Holly)

for despondency or despair (Larch, Pine,Elm Sweet Chestnut,Star of
Bethlehem, Willow, Oak, Crab Apple

for over-care for welfare of others (Chicory, Vervain, Vine,Beech,Rock
Water)

There is one other remedy which is often used.

Rescue Remedy
This contains five of the 38 remedies. As the name would suggest , it is
the remedy for emergencies and calming in traumatic situations such as

visiting the dentist, before an exam etc. The remedies may be taken by people of all ages, they may be taken on their own or in conjunction with other treatments.
